  • Many Americans dream of a trip to Europe, thinking about London or Rome, the great cultural centers, but vacations in Spain are actually much more affordable than most people think. This coupled with the abundance of things to do and see. Family beach vacations in Spain are among the most unforgettable, for those who have visited the country. I recommend that you consider it as one of your destinations the next time you travel and you'll definitely get your money's worth.

The south and east of Spain are on the Mediterranean Sea, which is in summer a warm delight, the coast line is a variety ranging from the rugged Costa Brava in the north, to the sweeping bays of fine sand on the Andalucian south coast.

For family vacations Spain offers a huge amount to see and do. On the coast there are a vast number of resorts with all the facilities you could want, restaurants serving cuisine from around the world.

Andalucia accommodation has in general a very high standard, and even at the less expensive end of the market a two star hotel (known in Spain as a Hostal) will have comfortable rooms. There are also many private apartments and villas available to rent in Andalucia, many will have access to a swimming pool, particularly the villas.

If you enjoy spectacular mountain scenery, there are many mountain ranges called Sierras, under an hour inland from the coast, the most famous being the Sierra Navarda near Granada. Spain has turned almost all of its mountain ranges in to national parks and it is possible to see all sorts of wild animal such as deer and wild boar, bears, and Eagles.
